This is a long poem in which the poet decribes about his memories of his young times. |
I remember, I remember Those young times of life When innocent faces floated Free of all sins. I remember, I remember Those tension free times Of life I enjoyed Oblivious of my duties. I remember, I remember Gazing at the vast skies Perplexed and oblivious of What I was peering at. I remember, I remember Napping all the time Dreaming in a world of games And fun in my tottering cradle. I remember, I remember Those scary nights of life Filled with my hallucinations Of wraiths and fiends. I remember, I remember Crying not of grief But of hunger and When I want to see my parents. I remember, I remember Those times of life When I was a helpless infant Baffled by all I saw. I remember, I remember All of my feline friends But what have we become now? Just monsters in a feline shape. I remember, I remember My first day at school When I was afraid To leave my parents. I remember, I remember My first lessons in life Which started my voyage Into the endless sea of knowledge. I remember, I remember Those never ending memories That keep coming to my mind As if they have eternal life. I remember, I remember My first vow to my country To help it develop and To stand with it always. I remember, I remember My first walking lessons When I was delighted By my achievements. I remember, I remember Munching on tasty treats Eating tasty fruits But hating vegetables. I remember, I remember Looking up at everyone Engulfed in thoughts Asking “when will I grow tall?” I remember, I remember Those innocent times of life When I never felt any grudge But just loved everyone. I remember, I remember The foolish dreams I had Of ruling the world and of Becoming the best. I remember, I remember My treasured parents who care And work hard all day For my bright future. I remember, I remember Those worthy times of life Circling in my mind Like the water in a fountain. I remember, I remember Those young times of life When innocent faces floated Free of all sins.
