if i made you a home in the snow underneath the evergreen trees that swoop and swallow your backyard, would you live in it? if i invited all your favorite woodland farytales to play with us in pinecones under the gray sky that you can’t hide from, would you serve them wine? you made this if i could split failure open and let it spill all over the marble if i could shrink to fit inside your mouth and find the words you couldn’t say now you’re living for it when the better days were a little less imagined we could have made a zoo in the metling spring snow hatch giant lace eggs with zebras cheetahs lions turtles finches elephants octopi and brush their vibrant manes out with golden threads but, what room will you pollute today cause if you don’t dream there’s more space in your brain and screaming matches you imagine and your imagination is a beautiful thing ‘cause it keeps you sane so where is it today i can see the path you left behind as you snailed around your empty house where everyone else is out having a good time and spring is POURING in your windows and avoiding your face cause the weight there is so heavy i can see it pull you down down down down DOWN down as your eyes go out of focus and you’re staying still as hell so that they don’t see you cause you never want to be found you never want to be found if youre gonna die this way |
