HE IS RISEN We gathered on the hills around from far away and near by towns to hear this man that made the blind to see could this be the one foretold spoken by prophets of long ago a sunrise morning filled our hearts with peace teacher teacher we chanted out with each word he'd still that crowd then looked up and gave his father thanks with two fish and just five loaves he fed us there five thousand souls then went up into the hills to pray how soon the time would wear away as we waited there while the master prayed we loosed our ship and slowly sailed away but a wind arose and the storm clouds broke and the waves poured in and filled our boat when suddenly we heard the master say peace be still be not afraid with just his words the winds obeyed a speechless silence charged the evening air I took one step from off the boat my eyes met his with a stumbling hope my faithless heart drowned out his words for fear from the night of his betrayal in the garden where my lord travailed the soldiers came and took us all away while just inside the palace walls accused and beaten beyond the cause my eyes refused to look upon his face from the courtyard to the tree shouts rang out crusify the king with each step they spit and mocked his name there upon the cross that day through the thundering clouds and pouring rain forgive them father still echoes to my shame from the tomb three days had spent me and john and mary went to only find the stone was rolled away we looked inside and held our heads when a voice hurrled out from the rock and said jesus whom you seek is risen from the dead.
