Life is funny sometimes, and what shapes our beliefs stranger still We see God as this huge, unobtainable being When the reality is that He’s so much closer Than we often choose to believe And our minds can seldom comprehend Conceptions outside our perceived scope of reason We try to see the deep, dark forest for the trees When what we really need is to view the lone trees themselves When we think of faith, we picture some large-scale Off-the-chart event, some earth-shattering, Mountain-moving experience, instead of being The size of a mustard seed And where we look for faith is funny too We look for it in the clouds and in the cosmos In wherever we perceive Heaven being located When it’s so much more simplified than that Faith isn’t in the events of life Faith IS the event--the stuff of life Not in the walking on water and waves But the faith we crave is on the water itself Remember that what we place our faith in Whatever we label faith as being in the end Is not what’s truly important in the cosmic scheme of things But in something as simple as our humanity and grasp of faith on water |
