The war has ended and I or the remains of me rather are stuck in this refugee camp. It's hard for most of us; we've lost our loved ones. It just... came out of nowhere. There were no signs, no warnings, no... nothing. I guess I should start from the beginning...
I was first drafted into the Vietnam war when I was 17. Actually, the drafting was a week after my 17th birthday. My ma and pa were devasted and reluctant to let me leave-I had never left home before, and so, much to my dismay and empty threats, I was inducted. My parents took it awful hard though. I was their firstborn, the oldest of three, well two rather, children. (My youngest brother; Tommy, he died immediately after being brought into the world). So for now, it was just my little kid sister Katie, who was nine at the time, and me.
