Sunrise

The sun is rising
With brilliance and beauty.
A sudden burst of color and light
That all the world can see.

Purple, orange, blue, and gold,
Not to mention white,
All colors of dawn
From ancient sunlight.

Clouds cover the sun
But not so that we can’t see
The power of its grace.
It mystifies me.

Sunlight shines through
The trees like a jigsaw
Waiting to be put together
As I watch in awe.
