Poem about the trials of suffering with social phobia
I'm in a box.
There's no way out.
I'm sliding down the walls
That ooze infection,
They drain affection,
Living in cold heat.

I can hear you,
Want to feel you,
But the touch will hurt,
The touch will hurt.
These walls are slick,
A pillow for my head,
To sleep forever.

So I shut you out.
I'll block my ears
To stop the tears
Falling down,
As I slide down,
Lying unseen at your feet
As you walk around.

This box can turn to glass
If you hit hard enough,
Rays of light can fall in
To warm your face for the first time,
And I can see you,
Walking freely,
Some trying to get in.
But I still can't get out,
'Cause no one tells me how

But i know there must be a way,
'Cause this box isn't me.
