thoughts on science |
I think I am therefore I am? I have heard it said that a car is only as good as its driver. Same can be said for science for all its formulars are the construct of human minds. Everything in this technological wonderland is defined and manipulated scientifically. The parting on the Red Sea is explained by scientist as a predictable low tide. These are the laws of nature. But, what if our reasoning is slanted by our very human nature? Imagine, the folly of our technology if it leads us to our extinction. How stupid, if all this tinkering was only fumbling in the dark. In the micro-universe things are too small to see. They are presumed to be there by the actions of larger objects. In the macro-universe objects are so far apart it is presumed they are no longer there; by the ratio of speed of light to distance. What then is real? There are seasons and the basic need for sustenance. Is this science? Any wild animal can master these skills. What are these scientist trying to prove? If you stand on one side of a wall; whatever you imagine to be on the other side is not factually true. It is fantasy: a chaos theory of pink elephants and and flying horses. To know what is on the other side of the wall you must go over the wall.. But, alas that is not humanly possible. Everything, we are is of this side of the wall... Try imagine anything. Whatever it is, it will be made from the things you see and feel about you. Last night I dreamt about a herd of women running through a field of daisys. I know women and what a field is and what daisys are... But, why did I dream this? Perhaps, it is pride an ambition that drives scientist to know all things unknowable. .. Wizards gone mad with technological incantations... Maybe, they will find my field of daisies with racing women. .. A unifying fantasy. Time for a nap. (^)(!) |
