An expresion of how we allow others and our own past influence our lives
Who Are We
Current mood:  calm
Category: Writing and Poetry

What as people have we become

Living in shadows of ourselves and what others have done

We live life from day to day not realizing what we've been given

Mostly from our past driven

From our lively mistakes to our goals reached

Learning with every leason life has to taught

We show a smile and go about our day

And some have given courage along the way

But who are we do we even know

Who will we become does our past show

If living in the past we have no future Then why does it affect us so

Or is it an excuse we've been accustomed to know

If it affects us in a negative way can we overcome

If your mind is strong and you cope say some

Or do you not cope and live on

Is it our personality that makes this decision

If so by whom is your personality given

Do you give or take which is better rember this in two ways can be done

Or do you give and take while becoming one

The true you is when your alone

Do you often wonder about the seeds you've sown

Do you wonder on what ground its grown

Do you think before speaking

Or speak before thinking

Does it really matter or is it the difference

Do you think about who's listening when you speak

Or in to whose life you may accidentally peak

Do you even notice or care to know

Do you try not to see or concern you can't show

Is it because of yourself and who you've become

Because of living in shadows of what yourself and others have done
