short essay about reality shows. Watchout for irony and sarcasm!
((yes this is short. I made it for school and we have a word limit! And this one went even over it! I'm lucky the teach didn't notice that.))

-- That's The Way The Cookie Grumbles - In Nosyville --

Since the day someone got the bright idea of airing Survivors, people have been crazy about reality shows. The huge international networks sure haven't been ignoring this juicy piece of information. Nowadays TV is flooding with these so called reality shows. But is it so realistic when the settings are so surreal? Or do we always get stuck into a house with strangers for six months? Funny, I have failed to notice that.

The success of reality TV is most likely connected to the fact that people are nosy, blood thirsty creatures. People can't wait to see who flips out first when their roommate is an inconsiderate diva with the brain capacity of a goldfish. Not to mention she is gay. And an alcoholic. Oh, and her father didn't love her enough. Also she'll be found in the top three contestants due to the fact that she attracts the blood thirsty audience. It's like a modern version of gladiators. Only instead of actual killing we now just watch people drive each other nuts.

So it seems that nosy people need more dirt to dwell on. Minding the neighbour's business isn't enough anymore. Now they need people to eat cow intestines to get something to talk about. Sure, when adults eat bugs it's entertainment but when kids do it, it's a big no no! I smell double standards. Well at least nosy people are entertained. Maybe the neighbours will get a moment of peace now.
