The Writer sees it all with Poet’s Eye,
Indulging not a vapid day pass by.
Where others view but ordinary things,
The scribe to light their inner essence brings
In pithy prose, a tome, or verse most high.
As dawn-warmed dewdrops gravity defy
To rise in rainbows, touching earth to sky,
The wordsmith nascent verbal seedlings flings,
With poet’s eye, the writer sees it all.
From earth-borne chrysalis to butterfly,
The cover pierced, unfettered, free to fly,
To each caress of wind the nestling clings
Then soars, to greet the day with outstretched wings.
And through the chastened veil, now but a sigh,
With poet’s eye, the writer sees it all.
