My ex boyfriend
Still holds my heart
We are the closest friends
Love fire still has a spark

His voice is like an angel
Speaking kindness in my ear
My spirit soars as an eagle
My mind full of  cheer

He will always know
How to bring the smile
His greatness to show
Though it's been a while

We had long distance between
His heart and mine
Still love grows unseen
Over the year of time

He was the knight
That wiped away my tears
And would hold me tight
Despite all our fears

We were both praying for another
I had a husband, he had a wife
He was a daddy and I was a mother
Our friendship helped through our life

I cried to be held
By the man that I wed
He was a shell
Caused by the words that she said

When time had come
To say good bye
When our marriages were done
We heard each other cry

He moved away
From all the pain that was at home
I had my kids and had to stay
As I stayed her all alone


But the miles and distance
Were hard on our love
It made a difference
Feeling's from God above

Now it's been a year
He has someone to hold
He wipes away her tear
He helps her to be bold

I still say I love you
He's still so sweet and kind
This love is so true
It's the one that will bind

I will never go away
He will always be here
Friends to this day
I give him a great big cheer.

I wait to see what fate
Has around the bend
Maybe someday we will date
Maybe just as my best friend


Inspired by a great friend that helped me through the hardest times in my life. We love each other, and we are mated through the heart. We are soul mates even if we may never be bed mates again.  No matter who each of us are with, we will still be guiding lights to each other.  So I want the best for him, no matter what he finds it to be.  That is what true love is, and I believe that we have the purest love second only to the love from God and of course that of a child.
