barren fields gripped cold by dieing winds a house decayed among the underbrush through a window a yellow light shined from within silent, but the squealing sounds madly, rats with starving eyes raced across a wood plank floor outside, in the forest, laughter echoed a child's face lifted to greet the black sky eyes blazed, mouths opened, tongues sing to the coming of Winter in Fall's despair above, the limbs of the trees whirled and twist an owl called the earth moved soft, warm hands gripped a fire, like a flower, blossomed we burn within softly, a melody echoed slowly, a dance began pass the wine, red and hot the sweet blood of a serpant voices sing, half in unison half in despair tongues grow coarse with laughter eyes shined whispers floated in the dark air "we who once were shall be again' some fell suddenly to their knees folded hands raised against the night voices chanted the flames consumed the tree upward, upward, burning, embracing, devouring the sky on a limb, a black bird sang in the flames, a skeleton appeared gyrating, staring, the mandible hang open silently screaming "what do the dead dream of?" a woman spoke with a crooked smile a sparkle in her eyes a light shined from within muddy arms bloody hands pallid face dated dress hands held hands eyes held eyes feet stopped all fell limbs entangled as bodies whirled and twisted into unnatural shapes entwined like vines my fingers caressed an ice-cold breast a strange smile she erupted sweating, choking, smothering through the jagged trees beneath the starless sky i chase the doe around my forehead the branches like thorns cut by an open, unmark grave on dead, decaying leaves laughing hysterically she fell i descend a struggle, we join into my ear, she whispered "life tis not an April dream."
