The thin red line between animate and inanimate |
Living Matters We do assume at times That inanimate have life Attributes animate characteristic to them And that leads to personification So goes the professor's English grammar class in grade five Mentioning the figures of speech With examples But are not the inanimate alive ? They say I am crazy But they are as they bring me Vivid memories of persons who used them ! During life we talk about objects belonging to a person But after death it is through these objects That they used Do we remember them ! Their presence make us remember the perons' presence They help to a great extent To fill the vaccum created By the loved ones departure They remind us time and again When they were used by our departed souls What they used to do with them And help us correlate And complete missing links in the memory chain. From the old rocking chair used by grand father To the grandma's pickles To the little frock worn by the new born who is no more To the warmth lost by the new born whose mother left this universe The thin red line Between animate and inanimate As we see Is no more there As a matter of fact The science law That matter can neither be created nor destroyed Is a true belssing in disguise And is proved beyond doubt by this ! |
