                   The Little Song

A little song on rainbow skies did rise,
And over time on sun-warmed rays to earth
Returned, re-formed, its echoes to reprise;
The chrysalis revealed through poets’ eyes
A lyric, vibrant, form of ageless worth;
The little voice that echoes over time
Regales, with poets’ vision, sonnet’s rhyme.

Poetic Form: Rhyme Royale – 7 lines of 10 syllables each (normally iambic pentameter), rhyming scheme of ababbcc.

Assignment – write a Rhyme Royale on my favorite style of poetry – I selected the sonnet = ‘little song’ or ‘little sound.'
