The difference between the way locals and tourist perceive the weather
You wake up on a cold winter’s morning
Expecting to see snow on the ground
And hear the weather person issue an icy road warning.

You look out your window and see oak leaves falling all around,
While on the Las Vegas Strip tourists wear shorts and tank tops,
Expecting to see snow on the ground.

You hear Jingle Bells and Santa songs in all the mall shops
The meteorologist says your outdoor pets need a warm bed at night,
While on the Las Vegas Strip tourists wear shorts and tank tops.

This month’s heating bill turns your black hair white,
The tourists at the Main Street Experience are dressed for summer
The meteorologist says your outdoor pets need a warm bed at night.

You want to winter somewhere warmer,
But the power bill just drained your bank account,
The tourists at the Main Street Experience are dressed for summer.

You walk out your front door and see snow on Charleston’s Mount,
You know that tomorrow the ski lodge will be opening
But the power bill just drained your bank account,
And hear the weather person issue an icy road warning.
