Running to your safest escape.
Runaway Lullaby

At last, your eyes open on the third day,
flying alone in the empty skies;
your shadow echoes across the way
carrying all of your troubled goodbyes.

You’ve swept so long along the sea
that now, when foam-like you land,
you wonder if you are truly free,
so slumber deep into the sand.

Gone: the forests and red weeds wide
mundane for miles around.
All that there is, all is inside
in heartbeats underground.

Know not to where, only to far,
far from the place you saw
of fires burning, tree-limbed scar—
(their words were Heaven’s law.)

For now you wander out of reach
of Bleak, the monster’s call;
you’ve found your final, soft-white beach
and risen above the Wall.
