A LETTER FROM CEFI, THE WHITE STALLION

THE WHITE STALLION'S RETURN TO FREEDOM

This beautiful white Paso Fino Stallion was the talk of the Paso Fino Association
and during his show career Cefi was known for his grace and beauty as he proudly
carried the American Flag at opening ceremonies of local and National Horse Shows. Known for his tricks, his grace and love for people, even when home in his
stall, he was always clean and shiny white.  His tail and mane were usually kept
braided at home to promote growth and keep clean.(He did not like that--I know,
because I took care of him for 17 years!).  He was my BEST FRIEND, and upon
his retirement, I wrote his owner this poem....from Cefi to J.R..........

My gift to you has been my love
You've treated me so kind
But----Now that I'm retiring
My tail---please unwind.

Just put me out to pasture
And let me run so free
So I can feel what it is like
To rub against a tree.

I'd like to roll in dirt again
Like when I was a colt
I'd like to swish the flys away
Without a tail that hurts!

I thank you for the years we've spent
Making people laugh and cheer
Those times were very special
We made a terrific pair.

Together, we made so many friends
We covered  lots of ground
I hope they'll still come to visit us
While I am still around.

I thank our God that I was born
With beauty and a wit
We've had some fun it's sure, J.R.
That we have not finished yet!

Retirement to some is rest
But not for me--of course
When I wake up tomorrow
I will get to be a horse.

It will no longer matter
If I am white as snow
I'll roll and get all dirty
And my mane won't have to grow.

So, thanks again for letting me
Retire from the show ring
I'll hang around the barn yard
While I listen to you sing.

I'll still nod yes to questions
But don't ask too much of me
Remember I'm RETIRED NOW
So set my Spirit Free!

Cefi's Retirement Party was held in  Florida before thousands of fans that
came to pay their respects and love.  He was also invited to the Paso Fino
Nationals in North Carolina for another Retirement Celebration and to carry the
American Flag one last time. Tears flowed freely on both nights. He had captured the love of all those whose paths he crossed. It was my privelege to know him
and care for him for 17 years.  He was indeed a Magnificang Gift from God to
all who knew him!
