Dana defends herself!

Nerves strained taut, she leaned closer, weapon poised above her head.
Both her hands were visibly shaking.
Dana closed her eyes and took a calming breath,
frightened but determined to see it through.
Stealing her nerves, she struck as hard as she could.
One cautious peek let her know the huge black spider was dead.
