                                                 S

Sadarie
Sadarie is the daughter of Aldarion and sister to Aurelia Aldarion born in 21390b.  It is believed that she was in command of the essence of Delia, the goddess of mercy, healing, medicine, and prophecy.  Her importance to the world was known by the r’kian immediately upon her birth and, along with her twin sister Ayani, she was placed into a position of high stature and taught from an earlier age the respect for and use of the ancient magic that she possessed.  She had the ability to create helpful medicines, to miraculously heal the weak, and to accurately predict future events, an ability that developed for her at a very early age.  From a young child she foretold the future in uncanny detail and carried the ability with her until her in 18,744b.  Sadarie was sought after by r’kian nobles and the caretakers of r’kian histories for her ability to see into and clearly define events that would stand out within the world as things came to be in the future of Talliaen.  In 20,345b she authored the Prophecies of Heaven detailing in depth the dark evil that would permeate the shaping of Talliaen for the following twenty one thousand years.  She devoted her life to promoting mercy, to creating natural medicines that would combat dire illnesses, and to documenting prophecies that would wreak havoc upon the world if left unchecked.  Sadarie dies of age in 18744b just days after predicting the rebirth of the Talliaen gods and of the final mortal battle that would forever change the makeup of the world.  The outcome of this looming war was not revealed as Sadarie let it be known that it was still to be determined.  In ancient manuscripts she is described as a tall r’kian female of great beauty with long, white hair and dazzling, blue eyes that shone gently in the dark.

Saecheles
Saecheles, the hall of God, is realm of Ereom, the one-god.  This realm serves as Ereom’s place of power and stands as the true gateway into the heavens.  Saecheles holds the passages to every realm, sun, and planet in all the existing universes.  The Hall of God is believed to be a place of such unknown wonders that only those gods closest to Ereom have even been permitted to look upon it, its details are left to the imagination.  None of Ereom’s chosen angels reside within this realm and when they are called to him, they enter Saecheles blinded to their immediate surroundings.

Saeti
The death vision of the R’kian.  The queen of the R’kian has this vision one year to the day of  her death.  She knows the reasons, the events leading up to it, and the inevitable consequences of her death.  Elai-Naemon granted the R’kian this ability under the condition that they make no attempt to change what occurs.  Doing so would strip them of this gift.

Safe Hole
The common name given to hiding holes carved in the trunks of trees.

Samuel
Samuel is one of seven archangels created by the tears of Ereom when he foresaw the end of existence after looking into the soul of the universe.  Samuel serves as the black angel, one of two couriers of the dead, and brings retribution when a soul stands in judgment.  Samuel is the physical embodiment of inner desire and is able to pull forth the true desires of one’s soul.  He carries the soul of the deceased away from its body and into the heavens upon ribbons of flame.  When the soul stands in judgment before Eadil Samuel stands in witness against the dead.  He never speaks for, only against, and if he is unable to speak against he will kneel and remain silent.  It is common for coins or jewels to be placed in the mouth of the deceased in an effort to sway Samuel’s testimony.  Samuel is bald with shining, white eyes, a somber, black aura, and black wings that stand up above his shoulders in a wide, marvelous span.

Secauru

Sha-Zacaera is the realm of Meaje, the god of sleep and dreams.  The realm is a dark world littered with the lost dreams of mortals and the souls bound here through a death in Tahlrad.  Mortal nightmares are tied to Sha-Zacaera and fill it, creating a distinct, ever changing environment beyond the constant black.  Hideously cruel beings and shadowed recesses of despair torture the minds of anyone crossing into the realm.

Shailaur
Shailaur is an extremely large keep built by Vaul Lorn in 4,686b on the northwestern edge of the Black Marsh at the junction of the Aleandor and Zaul Rivers.  The keep was named after the ancient dragon Shai-Laur and stands as a monument to his existence.  The walls stand nearly thirty feet in height, crafted from white granite blocks quarried in the Kale Mountains, and capped the length of each wall with towers riddled with archer windows.  The gate to Shailaur is two panels of thick, heavy wood with a blackish red tint hung from the rock entryway by four metal hinges each. There are no markings denoting the name of the keep and no flags are visible at any point within the structure.  The actual keep is protected by a mystic barrier of enormous strength, its rooms are furnished with extravagant and expensive materials, it is filled with secret passages, and small temples to honor the gods are scattered throughout its makeup.

                                                 T

Tae
Tae is the goddess of poetry, literature, and eloquence.  She is one of three daughters of Alysa, goddess of the arts, and Si, the keeper of dreams.  Tae possesses the power to grant mortals to put emotion, imagination, and thought into written word.  It is believed that those having extraordinary talent in poetry and literature had their soul touched by Tae or one of her chosen angels upon their birth.  Though she does have free will, she answers to the commands and requests of both her father and her mother as they allow her almost complete control over the gifts of poetry and story telling.
There are not any religions associated with Tae, though her name is evoked regularly by poets and authors across Talliaen.  Statues bearing her likeness are commonly seen at universities, theatres, and other places where poetry and literature are written and performed.  It is believed that a certain amount of her essence wraps itself within the truly great works and lends to these works a heightened insight into the meaning of life, love, hate, despair, and true existence.
Tae resides in the Palace of Kalmaer in a realm known as Lyraum.  Lyraum is a realm that constantly changes to fit the heavenly perception of any that enter its boundaries.  Tae’s chosen angels serve her here by inspiring creative thought in those possessing the abilities attributed to her.  She is commonly depicted as a small female child with long, black hair, violet eyes, a very thing figure, and pale skin.  Her garb is random, usually in accordance with the dress of any she appears before, except for the thick, black ring covered with gold and silver stars she wears on her right index finger.

Taeb
Taeb is the realm within Veshaun reserved for the souls of those that are not human, dwarf, or magic-born.  It resides in the darkest pit of Veshaun and is sometimes referred to as Svai-Laero, the Black Pit.  It is believed that souls sent here are doomed to an eternity of horrible suffering.  All creatures that are not human, dwarf, or magic-born are believed to exist because of dark intentions and therefore are always born with evil intent.  Those souls not taken into service by their chosen god are sent here.

Taelo
Taelo, a densely populated but uncivil land mass.

Tahlrad
Tahlrad is known as the dream river.  It is actually a flowing essence, absorbed in the universe, which has energies that unlock the hidden fears and hopes of all beings.  It is unseen, hidden within the subconscious with the ability to dictate actions beyond its general scope.  Tahlrad is entered when the mind is at rest and its physical makeup is limited only by a being’s imagination.  Though the events are thoughts within the subconscious, truths exist and death while in the dream realm can cause death in the actual world.

Talliaen
Talliaen is believed to exist as the center of the known universe.  The planet is orbited by two suns, Ajaesakos and Linaeus, and a single moon known as Veshaun.  Talliaen rotates from the east to the west and the sun rises upon the planet’s western horizon and sets in its eastern horizon.  Each of the planet’s poles spend two months a year in sunlight, two months in darkness, and four months in a type of twilight haze.  Its year consists of two hundred, twenty hour days and has a total of eight months:  Aram, Alaer, Erom, Lyaes, Jonora, Almaer, and Rashaen.
The planet’s surface is almost completely covered by oceans and seas, but has five continents: Lagri, the most advanced, consists of the sub-continents of Talliaen and Eslav; Taelo, a densely populated but uncivil land mass; Araj, the smallest of the continents, highly civilized with a structure based on war; Zeya, a large uncivilized continent ruled by evil and fear; and Elnaer, the land of magic.
Though the name Talliaen was given to the planet during early civilizations, it is more commonly the name given to one of Lagri’s sub-continents.  Talliaen is made up of nine basic races: human, dwarf, dragon, goblin, troll, ealam, r’kian, and the elf.

Talliaen Ocean
The ocean bordering Talliaen along its western coast.  This ocean is known for its terribly rough waters and for its abundance of underwater mountain ranges.  It is very difficult to travel upon as navigation is tough due to unpredictable currents, barely visible obstacles near the water surface, and seasonal storms.  It is an extremely dangerous ocean.

Tehr
Tehr is one of seven archangels created by the tears of Ereom when he foresaw the end of existence after looking into the soul of the universe.  Tehr serves as the angel of peace, love, and repentance.  He serves separately from Theron, the god of love, and Alara, the goddess of love, providing for the culmination of true love and commitment through adversity, perseverance, and repentance.  He is considered to be a true guide for love, pushing the envelop of forgiveness, understanding, fear, hate, and emotional insecurity to develop bonds greater than what is imaginable to most mortal minds.  He is unaffected by sorrow or jealousy and is therefore viewed by most mortals as a being of evil intent. Tehr always appears in a form relevant to an individual’s greatest insecurity.  His true form is that of an ancient humanoid male, always the race of the one he reveals himself to, with short, white hair, aquamarine eyes, a red aura, and body length, blue wings that drag against the ground as he walks.

Teidan, Kaevin (???-2,613b)
Kaevin Teidan is the mate of Carista Alea and was named the vaur of the r’kian in 4,135b.  He is a clear second to the queen, very formal and never overstepping his station within the r’kian hierarchy.  Though a very exceptional military leader and tactician, Kaevin is weak in regards to politics, ambition, and kingdom policy.  He led the r’kian army against Jornaum and the Dark Army, successfully repelling several invasions of Dalpon, during the Twilight War.  The r’kian forces, under his command, rallied behind him at the Battle of Dragon Mountain in 2,613b and led the armies of Talliaen to victory over the dark lords.  It was in this final battle that Kaevin Teidan was killed and heroically immortalized in the eyes of all the races within Talliaen.

Teihzbael

Teihzbael/Dragon War (1,209b-1,184b)

1209 Threatened by dragon clans, Teihzbael wars against dragons within the High Peaks and Anlaur Mountains.  1184 Final battle between Teihzbael and the dragon clans takes place on the slopes of          Dragon Mountain.  Andrew Nathaniel is killed in battle with Bartholomew.  The dragon lord is greatly damaged and assumed to have died.

Teliah
Teliah is the name given to the giant two-handed sword wielded by the guardian angel Amilil.  The blade of the weapon is close to six feet in length, double edged, very thin width, and is crafted from a light bearing, golden metal.  Its crossguard and handle are in the form of a naked, humanoid female with outstretched arms and legs that cross at the knees.  The female’s head is tilted back and the sword’s blade seems to pour out through her mouth.  The weapon screams out in agony as it strikes, usually causing fear and self doubt to any close enough to hear it.

Temple of Chamal
The Temple of Chamal is a palatial temple built in 12,671b by the League of the Dragon as a war hall and place of worship.  The temple was erected within the High Peaks Mountains between the Zaul and Aleandor Rivers and is protected by a ward of ancient magic that allows it to stand unchanged over the many centuries of its existence.  Actually built by trolls, the building appears primitive and is adorned with religious markings relating more to the trolls rather than those of the dragons.  The temple stands hundreds of feet in height, carved from cliffs of gray, almost black, granite and riddled with more than two thousand, enormous living chambers.  There is no way into the base of the structure, entrance limited to flight and through the use of mystic means, and it has served as a retreat for the dragon clan since it was built.  The temple was wrested from Jornaum, the god of evil, cunning, deceit, and absolute ruler of Ilysias, through a peace agreement in 11,846b.

Temple of Jornaum
The temple of Jornaum was built in 15,995b in the Graywood Forest on the island of Dara-Akua.  The temple was constructed as a new seat of power for the League of the Dragon after it fell under the control of Jornaum, the god of evil, cunning, deceit, and the absolute ruler of Ilysias.  The temple rises up out of the ground as a single fixture and towers above the forest that surrounds it, making it visible from every portion of the southern end of the island.  It is believed that Jornaum forced the earth to rise upward into a single mountain and then had the temple carved from its very rock.  It is crafted from a hard, black rock and topped with six white towers.  The towers lift away from the main body of the temple, making it appear as a great mountain with several snow capped peaks.  According to legend, the temple reaches down to the center of the world where it’s magic is at its greatest power.  Within the temple, Jornaum created a portal that allows for travel to and from Ilysias, circumventing the protection that the guardian angels offer to the three realms of existence.  The Temple of Jornaum later became the inner portion of the castle known as Rala-Al-Ejeul.

Ten Year War (6,312b-6,303b)
The ten year war was more a destruction of elf communities and slaughtering of elves than it was an actual war.  The contention between the elves and the dragons, existing since the start of the first elf/dragon war, came to open hostility in 6,312b.  For the next nine years, the dragon clan systematically eliminated entire elfin establishments that lay outside the recognized boundaries of the Kingdom of Vilar.  The raids allowed the dragons gather an abundance of valued treasures and many items of powerful magic.  The ten year war finally came to an end in 6,303b after the elves agreed to pay the dragon clan a hefty ransom of valuable metals, precious stones, and magic producing items.

Thaen Alaer
Thaen Alaer is the god of oceans, seas, rivers, lakes, and bogs.  He is viewed as the ruler of all creatures of water and is believed to watch over seafarers.  Thaen Alaer grants safe passage through dangerous waterways, prevents coastal cities from catastrophic water storms, and allows the magic born the ability to touch the untamed magic of the sea.  His breath blows the winds across the water and his anger causes the great storms of destruction that rise up from the ocean depths.
There is a single religion associated with Thaen Alaer, Aenism.  Aenists claim that Thaen Alaer is the true creator of the world.  They believe that all creatures and plant life depend on water for survival and therefore are truly his creations.  All things exist because of his power and the world would surely perish without him.  Aenists bury their dead at sea in ship graves and offer up great wealth to their god in the form of lake hoards, large deposits of valuables compiled at a fixed position in some body of water of the worshippers choice.  Thaen Alaer is respected as a powerful god, even among those that do not worship him.  It is a common practice to drop coins into treacherous passages to appease him.  There is an entire week offered up to Thaen Alaer, the week of free harbor.  This is held the second week of Lyaes, during which all ships, commercial or privateer, have the right to sell and trade their goods without the payment of duties or fear of imprisonment.  Ships are allowed to travel freely and are given leave at the end of the week.
Thaen Alaer resides in the Palace of Kalmaer in a realm known as Alokoleya.  Alokoleya is a world of water, filled with the hidden wonders and deadly beauty of the seas.  It is a realm filled with coral reefs and crystal blue water.  Any being gaining entrance into Alokoleya will transform into a mermaid or merman and will gain the ability to travel and breathe within the water.  His chosen angels serve him by caring for the waterways of Talliaen and the creatures associated with them, appearing in many forms such as sprites, sea maidens, mythical beasts, and great water serpents.  Thaen Alaer does not assume a humanoid form and is commonly depicted as a giant, black dolphin with bright blue eyes.

Thane, Ronell
Ronell Thane is one of the first true elves, born from an ealam father and a sylph mother.  The date of his actual birth is unrecorded, as is his rise to power within the administration of Thane Avesar, the first elf king.  He leads the Kingdom of Vilar into war against the dragon clan in 16,578b in retribution for the slaying of Thane Avesar.  The war was unsuccessful and Ronell turned his attention to developing a stronger military structure and increasing the mystic ability within the elf society.  He actively advanced exploration of Talliaen, introduced more practical medical practices, and pushed for the introduction of outside knowledge into the elf society.  He successfully led the war against the goblin invasion that lasted from 15,450b to 15,357b, ending in the slaying of Hoaque Gei in the Battle of the Finger Spikes and cementing his legacy as a military tactician within Elvin history.  In 14,621b Ronell Thane and his inner guard are all slaughtered by Jornaum, the god of evil, cunning, deceit, absolute ruler of Ilysias, and leader of the League of the Dragon.

Theron
Theron is the god of love and is regarded as the inspiration for all of the male aspects of love; sexual desire, impetuousness, and jealousy.  He is believed to control sexual frustration, anger caused by the deceptions of love, and the provocations of infidelity.  Theron’s touch brings emotional uncertainty, causing lovers to be moved by both love and hate for one another.  He grants males the desire to love while stripping them of the ability to properly display that love.  He is the dark side of love and controls all aspects of its crueler nature.  Theron is compassionate toward those injured by failed love and has great animosity towards those that have caused the injuries.
There are no religions associated with Theron and honor is seldom given to him in recognition for the accomplishments of love.  He is looked on by most to be more of a detractor of love than a provider of it.  He courted Alara, the goddess of love, but his advances were turned away due to the fact that he was one of heaven’s more comely gods.  In an attempt to win her over he created honey and sugar and offered them to her.  Alara still refused him and, hurt, he turned from her, strongly rebuking his deepest feelings.  Theron pledged to forever touch lovers with the insecurity and disappointment that lie within giving one’s self over to the emotions of true love.
Theron resides in the Palace of Kalmaer in a realm known as Baetol.  Baetol is a world filled with the anger and hate of misplaced love.  It stands upon the top of a mountain surrounded by clouds of black and white.  All the cries and curses of those wounded by love make their way to Baetol and echo within the rocks and valleys filling it until they are finally consumed within a great fire that burns at the very center of the realm.  Theron’s chosen angels serve him here by endowing mortals with the ability and desire to enact vengeance upon those that have betrayed the trusts of love and have in some way wronged a lover.  Theron is commonly depicted as a comely, human male with a muscular build, brown hair, and brown eyes.  He is always garbed in the clothes of mourning with golden chains hanging around his neck, wrists, and ankles.

Thojanan
Thojanan is a dragon in possession of the ancient bloodline born in 4,373b from one of four eggs secretly hidden by the dragon Shai-Laur.  There had been no dragon born from the ancient bloodline in eighteen thousand years until he was.  It is a birth that legend stated would signify the coming end to the known world.  Thojanan is a large dragon with dark amber eyes and aquamarine scales that reflect any light in a brightly shimmering aura.  He possesses a lean, muscular body and a tremendous tail lined along its length with boney spikes and poison producing veins.  His mystical ability is comparable to that of the ancient dragons, coursing through his body and emitting an essence that is undeniable to any within his presence.  Thojanan is believed to be in possession of the essence of Othrum Elendrew, the god of magic.  He wields mystic ability unmatched since the creation of the world and has the ability to seek out and expand the magical energies that exist in all things.  He has a clear perception of right and wrong and lives his life without ever crossing his moral choices for any means.

Thousand Year War (11,730b-10,708b)
War between the r’kian and the league of the dragon from 11,730b to 10,708b.  With the dragon clan controlling much of the Great Marsh and Eshur Mountains, the League made a choice to conquer the r’kian city of Secauru and then force the r’kian to defend the Don-Anuk.  It was determined that eliminating the threat of reinforcement and supply lines from Secauru would weaken the r’kian hold upon the magic of the Don-Anuk and it would eventually fall.  The r’kian vaur, Rayl-Shre, was a brilliant military leader and had an uncanny ability to predict his enemy’s motives.  He led  his own forces to defend Secauru while slowly reinforcing the fortifications at the Don-Anuk.  For hundreds of years the League of the Dragon and the r’kian battle for Secauru and for several key positions in the ealam, r’kian, and dragon territories.  Battered, the city survives the siege and Rayl-Shre turns his attention on a false assault against the Dragon Temple itself and then to strategic protection of the mystic waters of the Don-Anuk.  His gambit works and the League is distracted from a quick assault on the well’s caverns, allowing the r’kian army time to prepare to make its stand.  Rayl-Shre is slain during the Battle of Don Anuk, but manages to give his army what it needed to repel the attacking forces and route the League.  The ealam and dragon army is forced into peace after the dwarfs enter the war in 11,158b to aid their allies and help lead to the eventual defeat of the League of the Dragon in 10,708.

Throne of Ereom
The throne of Ereom is the seat of power for the one-god.  The throne is crafted from shards of worlds located throughout the universe and adorned along its legs, arms, and back by sixteen, brightly burning stars known as the Raemal.  The raemal is visible in the nighttime sky on Talliaen during the months of Erom, Elein, and Lyaes.  The backing to the throne is a dark black sheet of the universe lined with swirling, colorful masses and streaking comets.  While seated upon the throne, Ereom gains the knowledge from ever corner of existence and becomes aware all events that have and will transpire across space and time.

Tiger Fly
The tiger fly is a poisonous, meat eating insect found in the swamps of Talliaen.  It grows to approximately two feet in length, is colored in thick bands of red and white, and has two cutting arms located toward the front of its body.  The arms are used for anchoring it to its victim and to tear apart its meals.  The bite of the tiger fly, though poisonous, is not usually deadly to humanoid creatures.  General swelling and sickness occurs, leaving anyone bitten weak for several days.

Tirgan
Tirgan is the god of war and of physical skill.  He was originally a god in possession of three separate personalities, Tirgan himself being only one of those.  The other two personalities, Aren, the god of rage and strength, and Eligh Leral, the god of vengeance, retribution, and wine, were strong enough to break free and become independent entities.  It is believed that Tirgan bestows great power and endurance upon warriors at their birth.  He is responsible for the attributes associated with physical skill and for the final outcomes of battles.  It was Tirgan that swayed Ereom’s battle with Jornaum and the fallen by slaying Etryl, the dead god, while in a fit of rage.
There is only a single religious following of Tirgan, the Jahrin.  The Jahrin are fully devoted to war, serving exclusively as mercenaries to select temples.  Once a year those in service to Tirgan must sacrifice the life of a foe to him or forfeit their rights as one of the Jahrin.  The heads of great opponents are removed before death in order to prevent the soul from leaving the body.  The head is embalmed in cedar oil to preserve it as a prison for the soul of the deceased.  Some warriors, in a show of superior skill, will occasionally fight naked in an effort to humiliate their opponent.  This is considered a crazed state and honored by Tirgan.  The Jahrin hang captured officers and their mounts, piercing their sides with weapons so that they will bleed out.  Honored soldiers are cremated, placed inside of clay pots, and buried in fields, urn fields.  Red soldiers wear red, plate armor and employ a shield bearing the crest of a blazing sword piercing a golden orb.
Tirgan resides in the Palace of Kalmaer in a realm known as Acias.  Acias is a large war hall that only the souls of the greatest warriors are allowed to enter.  The realm holds a large arena where battles take place between Tirgan’s chosen angels.  Angels that win or come to a draw gain a place of importance within Acias while those that lose are sent back to start a new life upon Talliaen.  Warriors that are reborn eventually grow into some knowledge of their former mortal life, or lives.  Tirgan appears a giant male of enormous strength, moderate age, golden hair, and bright, green eyes.  He is an icy cold warrior adorned with blood red, plate armor, rides a black war horse, and wields a broadsword, Tonam, engulfed in blazing flames.

Toael
Toael is the realm of Ennay, the goddess of beauty, architecture, painting, and sculpting.  It is an
Irrationally unstable realm, ever changing in order to match the desires and imaginations of those souls that find themselves within its borders.  Paths of gold and silver weave through the lush green meadows that cover the realm and the sky remains open to the universe, dotted in brilliant stars and planets across its length.  The landscape of Toael is a swirl of activity, constantly changing in environment, structure, and life  in tune with the imagination and desires of the souls that find themselves there.

Tolan
Tolan is the realm of Alysa, the goddess of arts and knowledge.  It is known as the Great White Room as it does not actually have any sort of real makeup except for a blinding, white light.  Those that come here find themselves within a world created from their own thoughts, their own true imagination.  Its reality is only a perception, a perception limited only by the wild imaginations of its inhabitants.

Tonam
The name of the two handed broadsword wielded by Tirgan, the god of war and physical ability.  The blade of the sword is long and wide, crafted from a polished, gray metal and enchanted to carry a bright yellow and red blazing flame.  The crossguard of the sword is a golden cross with an extended bottom portion that becomes a two handed hilt.  The hilt is wrapped in thin, black strips of the existing universe.  When Tonam strikes a mortal it will cut through both skin and bone, severing any appendage it compromises.

Tower of Lords
A great temple built by Ereom, the One-God, in the heart of the sun known as Linaeus.  The tower was created from materials gathered across the universe and originally contained thirty-three floors, one for every god that would exist.  The tower’s floors were each a separate world, individual realms with their own existence located in other dimensions.  The tower is adorned in gems and metals of unimagined value from every corner of the universe and is the gateway to the entire expanse of all creation.  The Tower of Lords is guarded by a guardian angel known as Abyren and only the gods and their angels are allowed entrance.

Tree of Heaven
The Tree of Heaven grows within this realm of Nath, at its center.  It is tended to by Eleigha and her chosen angels.  She and her angels prune, nourish, and care for the tree in any way that is needed.  The boughs of the Tree of Heaven bloom the stars and its leaves bare the all the kingdoms, planets, and forms of life that exist.  The roots of the tree grow outward from this realm, twisting and turning their way through the universe.  It is believed that these roots spread fate throughout existence and alter it along the lines dictated by the tree’s caretaker, Eleigha, who has control over the events of the living through this guardianship.

Triel
The god of the goblins.  He sided with Jornaum against the heavens during the Kialle-Poryae and, being terribly wounded, was forced to combine his essence with that of the Quiel, the troll god.  Triel is accredited with bringing the goblin race into being and for granting them the ravaging anger, unquenched hatred, perilous greed, and strength and endurance that marks their existence.

Triel-Quiel
Triel-Quiel is the goblin lord or troll god and is worshipped by both the troll and goblin clans as the true god.  He is a god of purely evil intent and is responsible for the hideously evil nature of both the trolls and the goblins.  Triel-Quiel is the combined essences of Triel, the death troll, and Quiel, the goblin lord.  During the Kialle-Poryae both gods, siding with Jornaum against the heavens, were gravely injured and Quiel offered the remainder of his essence to Triel so that they both might live.  After the two were joined their responsibilities and powers became shared within a single being.  Triel-Quiel was exiled from the heavens and imprisoned with the rest of the fallen in Ilysias.  It is believed that he brought both the trolls and the goblins into existence and is their true god.  He grants them the ravaging anger, unquenched hatred, perilous greed, and strength and endurance that makes these two races among the most perilous being upon Talliaen.
There are no formal religions associated with Triel-Quiel outside of his worship by the trolls and goblins.  Goblins follow him without ceremony, taking only a life vow and promising to faithfully serve their darkest convictions for as long as they are alive.  Triel-Quiel can take the life of any bound to him through this vow whenever he so chooses.  Trolls honor him with an animal sacrifice offered up to him on a monthly basis.  They believe that failure to appease their god through these ritual sacrifices will result in eternal torture within the Ilysian flame.
Triel-Quiel resides in the Palace of Kalmaer in a realm known as Loepois.  Loepois is a dark, foul smelling world of hate and despair.  It is a maze of tunnels and pits with the Ilysian flame burning, fueled by the torment of lost souls, at its center.  His angels serve him by spreading discontent and hatred for Talliaen’s other races through the clans of those that worship him.  Triel-Quiel appears as a giant troll with deep blue eyes, a large, muscular build, and is always accompanied by a monstrous, black raven.  He is armored in black plate and wields a giant, black, double bladed battle axe known as Zaejad.

Troll/R’kian War (4,611b-4,575b)
The troll/r’kian war began in 4,611b after negations by the r’kian failed to lead the trolls out of the Anlaur Mountains.  The war became a vicious effort by the r’kian to completely eradicate the trolls from territory that belonged to them in ancient times before their self imposed exile from Talliaen.  With aid from the elf nation, the r’kian forced all troll settlements out of their perceived territory and the war came to an end in 4,575b.

Tulip Tree
The tulip tree is a rare tree producing colorful, water-repelling leaves used across Talliaen for wrapping food.  The tree produces extremely large bulbs of four leaves, resembling tulips, which drape down from the underside of its branches.  The bulbs come in a variety of colors, mainly violets and oranges, and serve as an exceptional protective sheath for meats and dry goods.  Tulip trees are a favorite of shipping merchants and are commonly used, due to their expense, by only the better funded importers and exporters on Talliaen.

Tusil

Twilight War (3,108b-2,613b)
The Twilight War is a war in which the gods of Ilysias, in their mortal forms, fought against the races of Talliaen.  The war began with the invasion of r’kian territories in 3,108b.  Jornaum led the first invasion, bringing down upon Dalpon an entire army built on minions of evil intent.  The first invasion was eventually pushed back after a twenty six year assault and the dark forces of Jornaum were forced to alter their invasion and war was declared upon the entire world of Talliaen.  In 2,733b the combined might of the Kingdom of Jornaum, the Black Kingdom, the Widow’s Keep, the goblin and troll races, under the lead of the dark lords and ancient magic gained control of Dragon Mountain.  When Aulrei, the Horn of Darkness, was sounded from the sacred place atop the mountain, the world shuddered under its evil and darkness took hold of all existence.  Desperate times followed and Talliaen was thrown into despair as corruption spread throughout the world.  The enlightened races of the world bound together and, in a great offensive push, fought the dark army to its encampments upon Dragon Mountain.  Jornaum and the dark lords were finally felled, bringing an end to the Twilight War.  A combination of r’kian and elf magic sealed the dark lords away within the mystic boundaries within Dragon Mountain.  The Horn of Darkness was silenced and Talliaen began its recovery.

                                                 U

Uel
The god of dark traits; greed, envy, hate, despair, and fear.  He sided with Jornaum during the Kialle-Poryae and, being terribly wounded, was forced to combine his essence with that of the god Raen.  Uel is accredited with the continued existence of terrible, overpoweringly dark traits.

Uemael
Holy day associated with the god Raen-Uel.  Uemael takes place on the fourteenth day of Almaer.  On this day the followers of Raen-Uel offer him precious jewels and metals they have collected throughout the year.  These offerings are done at temples that have been carved into mountain cliffs, hidden away securely from the casual eye.  The temples are giant, half circle platforms with a circular hot spring pool at either end.  Anyone making an offering must bathe in each pool and then place the items they intend to offer, once they have been cleansed with a blood ritual, into a burial pit on the outskirts of the temple.  It is believed that successfully completing this ceremony will grant its participants the favor of their god.

Ujael
A medallion typically worn by the followers of randomism.  The medallion is a granite star with eight points inset with a sunstone at its center.  It is believed that it will bring luck to anyone wearing it.

Ukora
Ukora is the war hammer of the god Raen-Uel.  The hammer is black, crafted from materials gathered from a dead star, and stained with the blood of every being Raen-Uel has killed with it.  Ukora’s weight is far to great for anyone but him to wield the weapon.  When the hammer strikes a target it rings out in a deep, thunderous growl.

Uralq
Uralq is known as the troll demon and serves Jornaum as a slayer of mortals within the living world.  He gained his fame after a deadly rise to a warlord within the troll nation.  He was able to bring the various groups of trolls under a single rule and manage to spread his wrath across the known world.  He aligned the trolls with the League of the Dragon and eventually submitted to the rule of the god Jornaum, in his mortal form.  Uralq was granted great power through ancient magics and, after serving Jornaum’s wishes faithfully for years as the troll ruler, he was granted a demon nature after he passed from the mortal world.  He is worshipped often as a god, though only a demon, and his banners bearing a black eagle before a red sun remain in use by several of the troll clans as a symbol to their ever lasting loyalty to him.

Urilan
Urilan is known as the curse of pride and serves as the demon that is involved in all agreements between mortals and Ilysias having to do with power and dignity.  He is demanding of importance, strong willed, self centered, and is driven by the desire to have success and power.  Once a pact with a mortal being has been reached, Urilan will aid that mortal in the completion of his end of the deal.  Though he cannot determine fate, he can influence it with subtle changes in the physical world that will favor those he has set an agreement with.  He will seldom involve himself in actual physical matters and typically manipulates events from a safely hidden distance.  His methods are based in the achievement of power, success, and importance as he gains his own power through them and he will push for any he is in league with to reach their goals no matter the consequences.  Urilan appears as a handsome, humanoid male, with long, golden hair, blue eyes, and large wings of blue feathers that drape across the ground.  He is always garbed in blue raiment and has the ability to cast fire from his hands and make himself invulnerable to ordinary damage.

Vaul Lorn-see Shai-Laur

Vaur
A vaur is the ruling male within the r’kian kingdom.  After the death of Aldarion, it was decreed that no male would have the right to rule over the r’kian.  The responsibility of leading the r’kian was to be given to the eldest female born to the reigning queen.  The position of vaur was created by Aurela Aldarion in 21,073b as a figurehead.  The vaur serves as a king, but answers to the authority and laws of the queen.  On the day that the throne is taken by a new queen, she chooses a mate and grants him the title of vaur.  The male chosen gains the seat of vaur without question as every decision made by a queen is considered sacred by the r’kian and is never openly opposed.  Only one vaur is chosen by any queen and serves in that position until he or the queen dies.  If the vaur dies the queen will spend the rest of her life without adding another and if a queen dies the vaur is exiled from the r’kian to spend his life in anonymity.  The exile is viewed as a detail of honor, having served their time and being willing to step aside and prevent any problems in the transference of power to the succeeding vaur.

Veshaun
Veshaun is the place for the souls of the dead and the world of Elai-Naemon.  Veshaun is said to exist within Talliaen’s moon, separate from the heavens and realms of the gods, and thus gives the moon its name.  According to myth, Ereom placed the heart of a dead star into the sky above Talliaen.  The star, still holding a small portion of its power, serves as a nighttime luminary and contains the four realms of the deceased: Pilendresh for the souls of the magic-born, Ranara for the souls of the dwarves, Alador for the souls of humankind, and Taeb for the souls of all others.

Vivaria
Vivaria is a female dragon of exceptional power born into the dragon clan during its exile in Ilysias after aiding Jornaum against the heavens during the Kialle-Poryae.  She was born in command of the essence of Vole, the goddess of the future, and was known throughout her existence to act upon careful thought to make certain that her actions would bridge into the future to alter events that would come.  In 21,229b she, along with her sister Elinen, turns against the dragon clan and aid the r’kian during the first Dragon War.
Vivaria was opposed to the extermination of an entire civilization, which she saw would be the eventual conclusion to such a war, and helped the r’kian become a central force within the world to alter events that she predicted would occur if the dragon clans came into domination of Talliaen.  Her effect upon the war was immediate.  The r’kian, though intelligent and powerful, were in fact no actual match for the dragons.  She helped transform the r’kian into a military force through the careful prediction of coming events through the use of worldly auras, an ability she taught to the r’kian.  For her aid, Vivaria was marked for death by the dragon clan.  In 21,073b she was killed by Renalk after she challenges for leadership of the clan and the essence of Vole was returned to the fabric of the heavens.  Vivaria was a dragon of ever changing colors, mainly varying shades of brilliant greens and reds, that gave her an always youthful appearance and allowed her to seem as if she was in constant rebirth as events within Talliaen seemed to dictate.

Voen
Voen is the realm of Alara, the goddess of love, purity, selflessness, fertility, childbirth, and marriage.  It is an emotionally draining world, filled with the broken dreams and lost loves of the mortals.  Those entering this plane of existence will find themselves swept up in feelings of hurt, anger, misguided hatred, and depression.  The ghosts of all her failures reside here, reminding her of their cost to mortal lives.  It is dark and confusing littered with layer upon layer of life sequences.  These sequences are actually real, each one acted out in a continuous circle by the angel that do her biding.

Voesh
The lead priest of vorist temple.  The voesh has complete control over the temple’s activities, but has no control outside of the temple itself.

Vole
Vole is the goddess of the future.  She is one of three daughters of Eleigha, the goddess of fate, and Othrum Elendrew, the god of magic.  She controls the threads of existence as they bind the present to the future.  She uses her influence over the stream of time to force future events to occur one way or another as she sees fit.  Vole attempts to manipulate the future, occasionally altering it, by tampering with the present to divert attention and sway perception of real events as they occur.
There is no organized religious structure associated with Vole and no holy days as she is believed to only exist within the future.  She is offered occasional tribute as mortals remain bound to her as their choices made and actions taken sway the outcomes of events that will occur.
Vole resides in the Palace of Kalmaer with her sisters in a realm know as Awran.  She remains here tending the strands of existence with the aid of her chosen angels.  These angels provide her with a constant, steady stream of information gathered from the past and present to assist her in binding the present to the future correctly.  Vole, bound in strands of piercing, white light, appears as a youthful female of any race with features that alter gently with each passing moment.

Vorism
The belief that Voshem endows his followers with certain powers that they are able to use at night.  All religious ceremonies are held exclusively at night.  Any act done with the blessing of Voshem must occur in the dark or during night hours.

Vorist-name given to the followers of vorism

Voshem
Voshem is the god of darkness and ruler of the night.  He controls the events of the night and is commonly worshiped by intelligent beings and vocations that are traditionally associated with the dark.  Voshem is at constant odds with his sister Laera-Madeas, the goddess of the sun.  They share the heavens and remain in battle for supremacy over it.  She chases him away each morning and he chases her away each evening, creating both night and day.  Voshem is the stronger of the two during the winter months, accounting for the longer nights at that time.
There is only a single religion associated with Voshem, Vorism.  Vorists believe that their god endows them with certain powers that they are able to use at night.  All religious ceremonies are held exclusively at night and all vorist temples open at sunset and close at sunrise.  Any act done with the blessing of Voshem must occur in the dark or during night hours.  Vorists are distinguished by a small, circular scar burned into the back of the neck, just below the base of the skull.  This scar is placed by a temple priest, a voesh, at the time of one’s acceptance into temple service.  The voesh has complete control over the temples activities, but has no control outside of the temple itself.  The followers of Voshem always wear the color black in honor of their god.  Vorists celebrate two holy nights, Evraes, on the first night of Aram, and Elraes, on the first night of Lyaes.  Evraes is considered to be the death of the year, being the first night of winter.  During this night, followers are expected to offer up a sacrifice; an assassination, an outlandish theft, or a like feat according to the worshipper’s occupation.  Elraes is the celebration of the longest night of the year.  On this night followers give an offering of prayer and praise to Voshem.
Voshem resides in the Palace of Kalmaer in a realm known as Yawel, the great void.  Yawel is a world of darkness, a total absence of light.  It remains invisible to the eye, defined by walls of sharp, jutting rock, treacherous pits that drop into the unknown voids of space, and hidden passages that weave through rivers and lakes of stale water.  The entire realm is traveled by perception, skills that those chosen by Voshem have attuned significantly during their mortal life.  Voshem appears as giant figure, a hairless, pale skinned male, his features always hidden beneath a black, hooded robe.

Walking
The term given to the gift granted by Elai-Naemon, god of the dead, that allows for the deceased to walk among the living for short periods of time.  Souls may be granted a walking to serve specific purposes of either evil or good intentions.  In order for a soul to be granted a walking, another life must be given willingly to death, a type of trade off that allows the deceased to assume a corporal form.  A walking lasts until the task has been completed or the new body of the deceased has been destroyed.  Walkers do not gain any special abilities, but do retain the knowledge of the dead and of their previous life.

The Western Spikes is a vast underwater mountain range that lies in the Talliaen Ocean between the Kingdom of Jornaum and the Territory of Rijaun.  Several of the mountain peaks rise up above the water’s surface to form tiny volcanic islands, all uninhabited.  Like the Amber Mountains, located on Dara-Akua, the Western Spikes are littered with large sulfuric deposits giving it a yellowish appearance and emitting a thick haze across the mountain tops.  It is generally believed that the two ranges are part of a larger combined range that stretches from Dara-Akua to Rijaun.

Yanaism
Yanaism is the belief that Keiya, the god of fire, earth, and weapon craft, brought fire to the mortals of Talliaen and allowed for them to use it to care for themselves and gain the knowledge to craft with it.  There are no holy days is connection with the worship of Yanaism, but worship is offered up at sites of cataclysmic destruction involving earthquakes, eruptions, and fire.  It is common for temples to be built at these sites as they possess evidence of their god’s power.  Weapons are often blessed in his honor when crafted by those touched with Keiya’s gifts.

Yanaists-name given to the followers of Yanaism.

Yawel
Yawel is the realm of Voshem, the god of darkness, also known as the great void.  Yawel is a world of darkness, a realm existing between life and death, hidden within the black of the universe with the total absence of light.  It is believed that the soul must first transverse this void, as it is still attached to the body, before being allowed to continue to the Gates of the Dead.  Yawel is a realm existing between life and death.
