Standing frozen looking before me,
In my blurred vision is the sea.
When I'm crying I can't envisage the sea's beauty
And something brings daydreams about that which cannot be.
Staring out into those ignoring waves
Takes my thoughts back to an older age.
Was love invented by those who once lived in caves?
Or something from God which to humans he gave?
Lifting my hand against the blazing sun
My raw emotions bring fresh fears uncomparable to anyone,
But my streaming eyes have barely begun.
My cleaved heart can never again become one.
Being in love, what does it entail?
is it that time moves slower than a snail?
But when it ends my body becomes rather frail
And the tears down my cheek begin a new trail.
You see, this is what we live for!
Not for the flowers you may receive
From one whispering in your ear "I love you"
Nor for the question of looks versus personality,
But a very different question that brings along a headache:
Am I in love?
