Getting married is hard for anyone.
Reality seems to come up along me.
It confuses and toys with my dreams.
Yet you still profess your love for me,
and in that way my heart leans.

It is the time of growing awake and alive.
It is a large transition for this girl.
It is the fish in the sea, living merrily.
It is the sand that's formed into pearl.

So now I'm faced with a new question.
Can I do the very impossible things?
Can I go against standard convention?
Bind to a tree with less rings?

We keep secrets for fear of reaction.
We love so much we hate to lose.
Our passion tries to be tantamount,
to the words we cannot to emotion, fuse.

Ask why I love and I'll reply,
if written my reaction would be read,
A girl who thought the best was a new doll,
and is given a queen's life instead.

Seeing you is like a poor beggar,
who scrambles to stay in life,
then is thrust into a higher state,
filled with overwhelming joy, no longer strife.

Reality makes me fear, my love,
that I will never be your bride.
That I cannot surpass my small world,
live life my own and good inside.

In you I give, though fear I have,
my open heart and strange ways.
Hoping that we'll always be true,
to ourselves for all our days.
