Hidden Demons

Baby when I feel this scared
I look into your eyes,
I grasp your hand and hold my breath,
I feel so unprepared.

A painful song or gentle kiss
They bring the hurt much closer
I try to force it way back down
But a thousand tears start falling.

I feel them burning through the scars
I cry with hidden sorrow
I wish that they would leave me be
I don't want to keep on going.

The walls, you try to break them down 
But still I keep on building
Why can't I let these demons go?
So that I can keep on living.

I lie enclosed within your arms
I feel myself escaping
I wish that I could stay like this
Those tears disappearing.
