I'm done trying to love. I'm returning to my broken shell where it's safe.
Lost Again

I can't do it anymore. I'm done trying to love. The coldness of the shadows beckons me. Doubt anybody will remember me, let alone realize I'm gone. I'm returning to my broken shell where it's safe. I'm applying krazy glue to the cracks that I had allowed to be created and sealing it shut as I crawl back inside.

I don't want this anymore.

I'm all out of faith. Nothing's real. Everything's a lie.

I can't do this anymore. I'm returning to the shadows where I belong, where no one will notice me. I'm returning to the shadows where I am once again invisible.

I was granted a wish for a short time and a princess, I became. That wish has now been spent and my fairy godmother has left me to die alone. It is now time to return to where I belong for I am no princess.

Back to the darkness and endless waves of tears. I can't do this. Not again.

I'll lock my pruned heart in a small metal box with a rotting lock. I'll throw the tarnished key into the harbor along with my tightly locked up dreams of happiness. A key, once so silver and bright, now stained from the harsh elements of doubt and pain. An unclean key now tossed to the bottom of Davy Jones' locker to be lost forever.

I can't go through this again. My withered heart won't tolerate it.

What's wrong with me?

My heart grows cold as it sinks into the blackness of the freezing waters. I'm not allowing it to happen again. I watch the box slowly sink to where light will never find it again. The key that would unlock my heart catches the sunlight one last time before it also disappears into the familiar blackness.

Love doesn't exist. I'm all out of faith.

Nothing's real anymore. Everything's a lie.
