In a land far away, a long long time ago - There lived a righteous man, and his unrivalled foe. Moses was a Prophet, calling all to God's way Pharoah was his enemy - guiding them astray. "Will you believe," said Moses to the King "If a convincing sign, to you I do bring?" Bring it forth then, said Pharoah, preparing for victory1 But this was just the start, of an amazing story All the magicians came, from far and wide Ready to be victorious - puffed up with pride "Who shall throw their sticks first?" said the magicicians to the man, "You shall do your magic first, if you believe you can"2 So they threw their sticks and rope, which moved very fast And on the eyes of all who watched, a magical spell was cast Then Moses threw his stick, and it swallowed up their lies The miracle from God was met by wonderous surprise3 The magicians fell down prostrate, praying to their Lord4 But Pharoah was irrate, for him they had ignored. "I will cut off your limbs, and have you crucified!"5 In vain he threatened, for their disbelief had surely died. They would not return from the truth that they had found And so the message of Moses will eternally resound Footnotes |
