Those Lost along the way

In an instant the pain was gone.
He stopped to get a handle on what was happening.
He felt warm and peaceful.
His mind was clear for the first time in a long while.
He felt like he was waking from a dream.
He looked up and there she was, his beautiful wife.
She was young and healthy, smiling at him with a soft reassuring look.
She reached out to take his hand.
He slowly stood up with no pain, weakness or lack of balance.
He began to worry about his kids.
She smiled and said, "No, They're fine."
They turned away from the little room and walked away hand in hand.
They were going home.
