The gnomes of midnight dance around
As their tiny, booted feet stomp the ground.
Their little bodies spinning around and around.
The bells on their feet making a soft tingeling sound.
In the moon beams they will dance
in their velvet, green pants.
When the fairies arrive, they take a gnome and start to stride.
Their heads held high with pride.
Big bright stars fill the sky,
It is a sight to make you sigh.
Some faries even start to cry
As they simply sit and ponder why.
They will dance this way
And start to sway
Until the first time of day.
In tomorrow's light they will cease their play.
