You came back, my heart's desire came true.
Awash with excitement, joy and relief.
Tinged with sadness as I recall why you left in the first place.
Can we rectify the past, or be doomed to forever repeat it?
Can you forgive my mistakes? Can I move on from your lies?
My heart is torn between wondering or endless distrust.
My head is unsure, unclear what to do.
My body is calling, craving your touch.
Common sense tells me walk away.
But loneliness makes me stay.
In your arms I fall, never wanting to get up.
I can forgive and forget but your heart is full of hurt.
You push me back and pull me in again.
The constant cat and mouse games we play.
I'm happy, I'm lonely, confused and bewildered.
Do you want me or are you back for revenge?
Am I the one or amusement again?
Am I a fool or in need of love?
I'm holding on for dear life
While you work my puppet strings
I should leave you but foolishness takes me over.
So here I stand crying once again
Some things improve, but you, you never change.
