As the Sun Sets

As the sun sets, an uneasy comfort is lost
as a purple haze and sneaky shadows overcome the city.

As the sun sets, a small sparkling star shines a quick burst of hope
and slowly disappears among the night-lights of the city.

As the sun sets, I lean back and watch
as my little sparkling star is lost in the thieving night.

As the sun sets, I cry.
