Crushed Heart: Naruto's true feelings.

It was another normal day for Sakura. She went to the Hokage's Mansion to train with Tsunade like she did everyday.
She knocked on the door leading to the Hokage's office.

"Enter"

Sakura opened the door and sat down in a seat in front of Tsunade's desk.

"I'm ready to begin training Ma'am", Sakura said.

"We are not going to train today", Tsunade said getting a confused look from Sakura."No today we are going to talk about Naruto"

"Naruto?", Sakura asked confused."What about Naruto?"

" What do you feel about him?",Tsunade asked.

"Um..he's a good guy and a great friend and um..he works hard everyday"

She stopped and looked at Tsunade and saw that she had a symphatic look on her face.

"Yes Naruto works hard on everything especially if it has to do with a promise. Do you remember what he promised you on the day he went with Shikamaru and the others to get Sasuke back?"

Sakura has a flashback and remembers what happened.

"I was crying at the gate and I begged Naruto to bring Sasuke back", Sakura said.

"And what did Naruto said?", Tsunade asked.

"He said, 'I will bring back Sasuke to you, I give you my word. I promise.' And then he smiled at me"

"But deep inside he was crushed",Tsunade said.

"W-what do you mean?"

"Naruto loves you like no other will. He loves you so much that he would gladly sacrifice his Happiness for yours. He knows that getting Sasuke back would make you very happy and that's all he wants, to make you happy. When he saw you crying and begging him to bring Sasuke back it crushed his heart. He is sure that your heart is set on Sasuke and he has given up hope on getting even a date from you and has focused more on finding ways to find Sasuke for you and getting stronger so that he can beat him and bring him back. All for your happiness."

Sakura just sat the dumbfounded. She had noticed that he hadn't asked him on a date since they went after Sasuke.

"Why are you telling me this?"

"I just thought that it would be better if you knew", Tsunade said before standing up." You're dismissed"

" Thank you Ma'am", said Sakura before standing up and exiting the Office.

She left the mansion and went back to her apartment. On the way she saw Naruto training his Ransengan and decided to say hi.

"Hey Naruto!"

Naruto looked up from the hole in the tree and smiled when he saw Sakura.

"Hey Sakura what's up?"

"Um I want to ask you a question", she said.

"Um sure why not"

Sakura sat on one of the tree stumps and beckoned him to sit next to her.

"Ok here goes....is there anybody you like right now?"

Naruto's expression changed to one of sadness and he looked down at his feet.

"Yes, but she doesn't notice me. I keep trying to impress her, but......"

"Naruto I'm really sorry", Sakura said edging closer to him.

"What for?"

"For not realizing that I love you too", She said before kissing him.

The days following Sakura's confession were happy days for Naruto. The two of them became a couple and they both love each other until the end of their days.
