                                                INGREDIENTS

2-3  PINTS  FRESH  STRAWBERRIES  WITH  STEMS

1  (12  OUNCE )  PACKAGE  SEMI-SWEET  CHOCOLATE  CHIPS

2  TABLESPOONS  SHORTENING

                                                  DIRECTIONS

1.  MAKE  SURE STRAWBERRIES  ARE  CLEAN  AND  DRY.

2.  IN  SMALL  HEAVY  SAUCEPAN  OVER  LOW  HEAT  MELT  CHOCOLATE CHIPS  AND  SHORTENING, STIRRING  CONSTANTLY  UNTIL  MIXTURE BLENDS  AND  IS  SMOOTH.. COOL  SLIGHTLY.

3.  HOLD  STRAWBERRIES  BY  TOP  AND  DIP  TWO-THIRDS  OF  EACH STRAWBERRY  INTO  CHOCOLATE  MIXTURE  OVER  SAUCEPAN.  DRIP EXCESS  CHOCOLATE  OFF  STRAWBERRY..

4.  PLACE  STRAWBERRIES  ON  TRAY  COVERED  WITH  WAX PAPER. .AFTER  ALL  STRAWBERRIES  ARE  DIPPED  CHILL  UNTIL CHOCOLATE  SETS  AND  IS  FIRM. .ABOUT  1 HOUR..

5. REMOVE FROM TRAY COVER AND CHILL UNTIL READY TO SERVE.
