"That is not the way it is meant to happen, Joseph." Lucifer scolded his protigee, who humbly nodded and muttered under his breath. Due to Lucifer's exceptional senses, he caught what Joseph murmured. Lucifer stood and walked cooly over to Joseph. He smiled softly, then promptly shoved Joseph into the nearest wall. "Not worth it?" Lucifer spat the words Joseph muttered back at him. "Not worth IT?! I'll let you know what is and what is not worth it. You know nothing! I am the only one that knows anything around here, and I will tell you what is worth it, and when. Understand?" Lucifer shook Joseph's limp frame. "Do you understand me, Joseph?" Joseph slowly nodded. Lucifer smiled angelically and threw Joseph back on the ground. "Tell me, Joseph," he sneered, "Isn't it worth the revenge that I promised you? Isn't this," he gestured to the room that was adorned with all imaginable comforts, "worth it?"

Judas was pacing. It was eleven o'clock. She was supposed to be in the room by ten thirty. He growled at the emptiness of the room. She was always very punctual. As he paced, he argued with himself. He should go look for her. If she wasn't here in one minute he would go look for her, he decided. The sixty seconds it took for a minute to pass seemed to take a lifetime. Every second, Judas felt his heart thump noisily and throb in torture. Finally, the second hand reached the twelve. Judas darted out the door. He had reached a full sprint by the time he reached the hallway. Judas ran to the end of the hallway and turned to the right. At the same moment, a young woman was turning to the sound of the running. Consequently, they slammed into each other. Judas wrapped his arms around the woman's waist to keep her from falling. When he caught his breath, he examined the girl.

She was a head shorter than he, and she had dark, curling hair that was in her face from the collision.

"I'm sorry." the girl muttered.

"It's nothing." Judas offered.

The girl reached up and pushed the offending locks out of her face and looked up at Judas. Her eyes were green, and they were ringed with puffy red. There were tracks of dried tear stains on her cheeks. Her bottom lip was darker than her upper lip, probably because she had been biting it to keep from crying. She was such a shade of alabaster pale that the white linen she wore looked gray and shabby. Every hateful thought left Judas' mind as he looked into the swollen eyes of the angel in his arms. He only felt relief.

Olivia was lost. She knew she had been wandering around aimlessly for an hour, and every turn led her somewhere new in the castle. Eventually, she forgot when she made her last turn and ended up wandering in circles. She looked around, and knew that she had seen that tapestry before. And the spacing of the doors was different in this hall than the others, or at least it seemed that way. Frantic, she continued to wander, but at a different pace. She stopped paying attention to changing things, sounds, light, and focused on the things that would not change. That tapestry, for example. It was on the South side of the hallway. Or perhaps the western side. She stared at the tapestry while tears rolled down her cheeks and she tried to remember if it was to the west or to the south.

When she heard the sound of stumbling feet, she wiped her eyes and turned toward the sound. And then she was knocked off her feet. Fortunately, the person who ran into her had good sense, and caught her before her head made contact with the floor.

"I'm so sorry." Olivia stuttered out.

"It's nothing." the man answered in a deep voice. A voice that Olivia recognized from... somewhere. She impatiently pushed her hair out of her eyes and looked up at the man. He had dark skin, dark hair, and dark eyes. He looked as if he hadn't gotten any sleep the night before, the bags under his eyes were sufficently purple, mimicking the tone of day old bruises. As Olivia gazed wordlessly at the man, she couldn't help but lower her hands and deftly wrap them around him, mimicking his hold on her.

"I should have been paying attention to where I was going." she said, looking down the collar of his robes. They were silver and burgandy, while the robe itself was a deep red. The man laughed.

"I run into you and you should watch where it is you are going?" he laughed again. Olivia couldn't help but smile.

"I am a guest here. I assume that you would know your way better..." she trailed off, afraid of sounding foolish.

"And therefore should be able to keep attention on other things than where to turn." the man said with good humor. "I apologize, miss." he added.

"Olivia. My name is Olivia." she said quietly.

"I am Judas. And I know who you are, Olivia. You are not just a guest, I'm afraid." the humor in his voice was fading. Judas paused and looked down at Olivia, and he waited until she looked up to meet his gaze. "You are late." he said softly, all humor gone.

"Late?" Olivia questioned Judas. She studied his expression until she realized that he was angry. His hold tightened around her.

"Yes, late." he said curtly. "Don't you remember? You promised you would come. And I haven't seen you since. Until now, of course."

"What are you--?" Olivia began to question Judas again, when he turned around and walked away. "Where are you going?" she stumbled to follow him. "Judas? What is--?" Judas slammed the door in her face, cutting her off.

The door wrenched open. Judas had returned, holding two leather bound books. The first was black and easily recognised, it was a Bible. The second was smaller, and looked shabbier, as if it had been read every day for many years, while the Bible had a thin layer of dust on it. Judas held out the shabbier of the two books to Olivia.

"Take it." he murmured softly. "Read it. And I'll hope you can remember." Olivia took the book from his outstrectched hand.

"Thank you." she said softly.

The leather was old and faded. It was soft and felt as if it might tear in Olivia's hands. She opened the book carefully and gazed inside, completely in shock. The book was in Aramaic. She flipped through the pages. The entire book was Aramaic. Olivia looked up at Judas.

"I can't read this." she whispered, offering the book to him. He smirked.

"I can." he caught her eyes. There was humor in his words. "Come." he took her hand and pulled her into the room behind him. It was another huge room, with a vast bed on one side and a bookshelf on the other. The bookshelf held stacks and stacks of books. Olivia noticed that every book was wrapped in similar leather as the book in her hands, and that every book was also in Aramaic. Judas was standing behind her, his hand resting on her lower back. She leaned into his hand slightly as she took in the sight before her.

"None of these are English." Olivia muttered.

"No." Judas said. "You must learn Aramaic. It is what is spoken here." Olivia turned and held the book out to him.

"Read it to me, please." she said, offering the book to Judas. He paused, studying her.

"Alright." he said after a moment. He took the book from Olivia and opened it. He held it with similar care as she. Judas cleared his throat and began reading. "My only. I have word that danger is coming for us. I cannot allow the child to be harmed. Therefore, I have decided that I must leave you, for now, until the danger passes. I must tell you, my darling, I cannot be happier than I am while I am with you. There is nothing else in this world that can have the same effect... the stolen glances during dinner, the quick moments we have, there is nothing else to me than you. Please do not despair. We will be together again. Soon. Your leader says the terror will be over by sunset of the fourth day. My life, if in four days you are safe, come to me. At the grove beneath a full moon. We can be together and all will be right again in this world. I love you more than life itself. Four days. My soul is yours, Mary."

She was wrapped in a dark cloak as to not reveal herself in the night. Men strode past her in the dark, pushing against her. They were drunk and could not see her, couldn't see she was a woman. A woman out at night, the most dangerous thing she could be here... A loud bang followed by drunk laughing was heard further away, she turned to the noise. The streets were wet, and she slipped, her cloak hood sliding off her head, revealing thick dark curls. Before anyone can spot the woman, she pulls the cloak tighter around her and sprints off into the dark. A sense of urgency invades the womans blood, and she runs frantically to the seaside, pushing harder, faster, quieter. There is no time left... the time was gone long before, but she will steal some, she must steal as much as she can... for a last glance, if nothing more. She could bear a last glance. A glance is all it takes to see a figure standing in the grove, with one hand resting on the treebranch as he stares at the full moon. He, too, is adorned in all black. She comes up behind him.

"Judas." the man turns, his eyes full of love as he gazes back into her.

"My own. You came." he said quietly, quickly closing the gap between them and pulling her into an embrace. "I love you." he said. "My heart is yours, Mary. Take it." The woman pulled back to look into Judas's eyes. They were sincere and bright against the black of the sky. Mary stood on her tiptoes and kissed him. She wound one of her hands in his hair, pulling him closer, while the other rested on his chest. Judas moved his lips down to kiss her jaw. Both of her hand clenched. Judas gasped. He shuddered and collasped. Dark liquid pooled in Mary's hand as she pulled it away from his form in surprise. In her hand was his bloodied, beating heart. It sputtered and stopped as she watched in horror. Judas moved no more.
