Lost Soul

The silence is deafening.

To the point of which I hear a ring.

Have they forgotten about me?

What have I done?

Every time I try to leave this place,

I am put into a perpetual loop and tossed back,

To where I began.

I see headlights.

Now familiar faces.

But they seem to be sad faces.

When I try to call their names,

There is no answer.

Not even an echo.

Why are they ignoring me?

They walk right up to me,

And begin to cry.

I begin to cry.

But only because I don’t know,

What I’ve done to deserve this.

And why won’t they look at me.

They look at the ground I’m standing on,

But not me.

I look at what they are looking at.

It’s a gravestone.

With my name on it!

Is this some sort of prank?

Suddenly they leave.

And I am still stuck in what appears to be a graveyard.
