INTROSPECTION

INTROSPECTION


I have been writing poems
On all sorts of topics
That are moderate In length.
I just can’t write epics.

Have they been received well by
WDC readers?
I would say ‘yes’, as revealed
By reviews and feeders.

I have been given awards
In many a contest.
Their organizers might be
Viewing me as a pest!

But, from my own point of view,
I must this truly say:
Of learning what I know now,
There was no other way.

Sonnets, sestinas, haikus,
Pantoums and limericks,
I have learnt and keep writing
Using daily new tricks.

I can now appreciate
Poetry much better.
Through it now I understand
That emotions matter.

I truly think poetry
Has, in reality,
Led to development of
My personality.
