Enough is Enough

An Obama supporter, I don’t claim to be,
but talk of race annoys the crap out of me.

Could he get this far being violent and lazy?
Such stereotypical views are downright crazy.

Some will vote for him simply because of his skin,
chanting for a change from the times we're engulfed in.

Republicans, Democrats hang your heads in shame
for judging a man's worth merely by his last name.

Media listens, hanging on every word,
and reports on the mistakes; it’s simply absurd.

Fellow countries question the noble USA.
How could leaders of the world behave this way?

Race and gender overwhelm our nation’s focus.
Issues gone in a mirage of hocus pocus.

It’s 2008; is this as far as we’ve come,
assessing color instead of work a man’s done?

Heated debating over male, female, black, white.
Let's concentrate on who will run this nation right.

Views, ideals, plans - maybe throw a moral in too,
anything except this ethnicity zoo.

Put the blindfolds on, for once listen to the voice.
Open minds risk making an educated choice!
