The Presence

The Presence

In this room,
I am alone,
And the muffled sound of footsteps
Indicate the presence
Of the unknown.

A tiny light anomaly
Moves across the wall.
Although the room
Is entirely darkened,
It continues to the hall.

It has been hours now
Since I sat down here,
And as I stand up hesitantly
I begin move to the door
Despite my deepest fears.

Without any warning,
An intense wind
Forces me back to the room,
So now, at last, it is confirmed.
The world certainly is not what we assume.
