" The Catholic Church prohibits the marriage of a Catholic to a
non-Catholic. An unbelieving non-Catholic parent, especially a
mother, will encourage her children to openly question all things
Catholic. This proves to be a hindrance to the children's faith
and devotion to the Church. Serious problems may arise from
divergent moral views and family discipline.
The Catholic Church forbids mixed marriages being celebrated
in church. They may take place in a house. The marraige rings
cannot be blessed and the nuptial Mass is denied.(Cannon Law 1063)."
Rebuttal
If you exclude non-Catholics from the scrament of marriage,
then are you saying non-Catholic marriages are not valid?
The Catholic Church is not the only means to salvation. There
are many non-Catholic married couples, who are happily raising
good children. It is predjudice to say that the Catholic Church is
infalable in maters of faith. Faith is found in all religions and
people. This intolerance is religious bigotry.
