A song in praise of autumn. Season and life. |
** Access Error: Item is fully private. ** The leaves they blow down on the autumn breeze, They swirl to form large rustling heaps with ease, Vibrant, greet my eyes And to my surprise They stay bright on the ground with colours that please. The leaves change colour when Octobers fall, Poignant memories my mind does recall, Spring and summer days In a sunshine haze They stay bright in my mind and me enthral. Autumn breezes blowing warm and cold, Autumn colours shining red and gold, A time to collate And to speculate On the beauty that autumn does unfold. In the autumn of life love can still shine bright, Together we stand in the fading light, Our wedding rings glow And to the world show Autumn love, matured, is a wonderful sight. In the autumn of life we slow down take a rest, Look at the colours, with which we’ve been blessed, To have and to hold Our rings red and gold Reflect the autumn show love’s stood the test. Autumn breezes blowing warm and cold, Autumn colours shining red and gold, A time to collate And to speculate On the beauty that autumn does unfold. The leaves they blow down on the autumn breeze. |
