Poem about a true first kiss. |
The Kiss I ran and hid in the thick dark woods at night. The thorns, the burs and the strange sounds filled me with fright. My heart raced at the thrill of being chased. Then I came to the old hollow tree and waited silently. The moon was high, white and full as I awaited quietly on my makeshift stool. Suddenly I heard the snapping of twigs and the crunch of leaves under foot. Yet I remained silent, hoping not to be seen as I stayed put. It was a game that I loved to play and one I was very good at. I am sure you knew that. Feeling the time fly past, I wondered how long I would last. Hiding secretly under the faint light of the stars and moon in the woods all alone. The footsteps started to move away. Further and further I began to sway. When I thought everything was okay, I allowed a sigh of relief to escape my lips. Then I started to get up and shifted my hips. The footsteps began shuffling and ruffling the leaves as they ran. All the way past the point they began. Straight towards me he came with a look in his eyes that was not tame. He grabbed me and kissed me then laid me down. In the hollow tree with no one around. The butterflies danced as I was being romanced. I was somewhere else and everything began to blend. The kiss lasted so long I didn’t want it to end. It was the deadly kiss to end all others and send them to ruin. So that no one could ever compare to the true one. |
