Its a composition about a naughty boy who in his greed for the gift forgets all suffering
When I was a child,
I had a notorious habit to hide.
My family searched and frowned,
for I was nowhere to be found.

Finally, they gave up searching,
for, who knows where I may be lurking.
Hence, I lost that attention,
and wanted its retention.

I hid in the stable,
and waited for the sound of gravel.
Long I waited and fell asleep,
only to wake shivering, on chilled hay heap.

Outside was dark and freezing inside,
even my tummy started aching with tide.
Home was across the pavement,
strong chilly winds prevented my ascent.

The sound of wind was scary,
in dark the stable too was eerie.
A different chill went down my spine,
and fear gripped the mental shrine.

Tears rolled faster than rain,
fear caused an enigma of panic and pain.
I had no idea of what to do,
was scared to get out as winds blew.

Then I heard the heavenly sound,
I remembered Christmas is around.
Then I remembered, mum's saying,
"Santa bring presents to children fast growing".

All the fear vanished as the ringing closed in,
and with open arms I ran out in winds freezing.
Greed for the gift was so,
It made me forget my fear and sorrow.

I waited in cold to see reindeers pulling Santa's magnificent sleigh,
but, old and battered Mr. Parker's sledge made me feel silly.
Disappointment rang loud,
and the bells died in barks of hounds.

But today I can summarize,
that Mr. Parker was Santa in disguise.
That night, my life he gave me,
and that is the present more magnificent than any.
