A poem of forgiveness.
I saw it happen, you know. A crystallized song, a sharp

bell sounding. I trusted you one moment, one second, and

then a break.

And everything got a little grayer, because I was no longer

allowed to see through the prism of colors you wore around

your neck. I saw it happen, again and again. I felt the string

that was tied around my thumb, the one you told me would

keep us close, snap. It tugged tightly, so tightly, and I knew

it was coming. I watched that hair of cotton fall from my

hand and land with such grace and such dignity, I wanted to

pick it up and save it from the horrors I was now exposed

to. I saw it happen. In one word, one thought, one excuse,

you made me grow up. I saw you in your true colors,

without the mask you had presented, and I was so sad, so

sad for what I had been.

And in this sadness, still, I knew what words to give you:

It's all right.
