A Purpose

A purpose
We go through our entire lives,
Looking for that one purpose,
Whether it be something or someone,
We search for it, until we find it,
Never feeling complete until we do,
Some find it right away,
For the rest of us,
We wander, feeling lost,
Without something to guide us,
We wander aimlessly, hoping to find it,
I am that wanderer,
Looking for a purpose,
Looking for a reason,
Looking for inspiration,
Looking for hope,
Looking for success,
Looking for life,
Never looking for failure,
Never looking for a reason to hate,
Never looking for a fight,
Never looking for despair,
But we stumble upon them,
Whether or not we let ourselves fall into the abyss,
Or climb out to keep looking for a purpose,
That’s all a choice,
A choice to lose sight of what we are looking for,
Or a choice to keep searching,
But never lose sight,
Never lose hope,
Never fall and not get back up,
Always get back up to face what lies ahead,
Because in the end,
Life is full of holes,
But it’s a choice,
A choice to rise
A choice to fall
A choice to keep going
Or a choice to stop searching.
