BABY MIRACLE

Have you ever had an occasion or a moment where somehing has happened and you think to yourself that was way beyond coincidence. There have been several instances that have happened to myself in the last ten to fifteen years that go beyond simply being a coincidence. I view these occurrences as a message, or a reminder that whatever it may be, there is certainly a higher source, a higher power that is driving the universe. My own special little term for these happenings or occurrences is a baby miracle.

One of my baby miracles actually evolved into a second one involving the same subject matter. Music is one of my passions, and I used to enjoy creating compilation tapes to listen to while driving in my vehicle. Back in 1996, I was riding home from work one night with a friend whom I carpooled with. In the course of our conversation, I mentioned to him that I was going to do some taping when I got home. He asked me what the theme of my tape was that I was going to produce and I told him that it was going to be a tape where every song had to have a number in the title. I even gave him a couple of examples, mentioning Steely Dan's Hey Nineteen, and Bryan Adams Summer Of 69.

Within five minutes of sharing that with him, almost on cue, Steely Dan's Hey Nineteen started playing on the radio. We both thought that was strange, most definitely a coincidence. What happened next though was no coincidence. Yes indeed, the Bryan Adams song Summer Of 69 started playing. When Hey Nineteen played perhaps that was a coincidence, but when the Summer Of 69 started playing we both looked at each other and knew we just experienced a message, a reminder that there is indeed a higher source driving our universe.

A few months later my wife and I were driving into Indianapolis and we were listening to that tape of songs with numbers in the title that I put together. We had not listened to the radio since leaving our home. We were pulling into a parking lot of a shopping mall and as I hit the button to eject the tape we were both stunned to hear what was coming over the airwaves. It was the Beach Boys song 409. Once again I knew that this was a message. Somebody, some source of energy was looking down and reminding us of the existence of this higher power.

There is a fine line between what is a coincidence and a so called baby miracle. It is up to each individual to make that distinction for themselves. When it truly happens though, you will recognize it. It is a great feeling, it is a comforting feeling, it is a feeling of enlightenment. It is a feeling that furnishes you with a sense of being, that our existence has a meaning to it, that it has a purpose. So please take note of things that happen in your life, because generally they happen for a reason. It is up to you to interpret what that purpose is and what it means. Embrace the baby miracles that happen in your life.
