Chapter Two

“Adam, hi!”  Oh great, that was intelligent.  I stare at the man standing in front of me.  His hair no longer flops in his face, now it is cut short, in a military buzz cut.  He has filled out from high school, but his eyes still have that mischievous look in them.  He was undoubtedly up to no good.

“Cat, I was hoping you were working tonight,” He said with a smirk on his lips.

“What are you doing here?”

“You don’t want me here?”  Oh God, yes I wanted him here, I just didn’t understand why he was here.  At first our e-mail and texting conversations were harmless, catching up on what has happened the last ten years, reminiscing about high school, talking about people we knew as well as books we liked in common.  But then our conversations turned flirty.  I knew he was married and I might as well be, but we flirted.  It was harmless.  Or so I thought.  The flirting turned into something so much more.  The texts/ e-mails we have recently been sending are positively R-rated.  He had mentioned coming up to see me, but I figured it was just talk.  I never expected to see him, standing in my hotel lobby at 3:30am.

“I just didn’t think you would come.”  I responded, regretting my phrasing as soon as it passed my lips.  Why can’t I think straight with him in front of me?

“Oh I plan on it, several times, hopefully.”  Oh No.  I could feel myself get wet at his words.  I told this man of my vampire fantasy, and he told me he would love to act it out with me.  I never really took him seriously, but that glint in his eye looks really dangerous.

“Seriously, why are you here?”  I couldn’t help but ask.  I had to know. Did he really drive from Madison just to see me?

“I wanted to see you,” he replied. “I wanted you.”

Oh damn.  I was in trouble.
