The Meaning of Loneliness

Now,
As I stare around this empty room

That I understand the meaning of loneliness.
I never felt this way before -
So full of nothing,
So alone tonight.

And I whisper to the gods I don't believe in anymore.

Because there's no escape,
I can't get out,
I'm suffocating.
I'm choking on the air I never had.
Come back.

Whispers in my dreams,
Quiet little signs
That I know can't be real,
But echo in my mind.

Destiny has parted us,
Never will we be.
Tragedy has parted us
And now I'm on my knees.

Begging the air around me
To bring you back,
Pleading with my makeshift master
To fill the cracks,

To heal my soul.
