Chipped

the vast horizon looks for a merry go around

a chain saw monster seals all exits

the dusty wind ties a trail of dead leaves



a lone dog sniffs around for a heart beat

he gazes up at the concrete mountain

a stray bat pierces his ear

he turns around to see his disappeared paw prints



raked

concealed

traced

failed



He walks on……….



an empty well

a  broken window

a mighty bell

a greased gate



leads him to concrete abundance

he strains to feel the moist grass
