I HAVE A LONG WAY TO CLIMB

I have a long way to climb
Before I can make her mine
I know where I want to be
But she is still trying to learn to trust me
This patience thing is hard to do
The heart will play tricks on you
Time is really your friend
But you are unaware of this when you begin
Love is a journey that is worth the wait
But I am still learning how to participate
You know deep down if she gave you her hand
That you would work hard to stay her man
Women decide to give their hearts at their own pace
You must be resolute in this chase
Women's hearts are usually sore
You never know the history which her heart has endured
A woman's love is God's greatest gift
To have her love you will have to sift
If I want her I will have to remain true
Each day shouting loudly "I Want You"
Many days will pass and you will feel ignored
Don't, because deep down she enjoys
Women's hearts are always under attack
I have to be aware of this as a matter of fact
Her resistance isn't directed toward you
She still remembers love's failure and how she was blue
I will do all that I can
She will soon come to understand
That I'm not like any other man
I have a long way to climb
But in the end hopefully she will be mine
And life will be just fine
