THE CHILD Wind blows and blows Time goes and goes The hill stands as a warrior Yet erosion takes place A cave is thus formed in the side of hill Earth revolves around sun, day and night Comes winter, comes summer Ice melts in the snow clad hill tops River flow generated and strengthened as it flows Rain pours and pours, thus moist the dry soil Forests are formed and become dense Animals live and die, life moves on A man and woman comes from desert Thirsty and hungry they are They drink from river, they eat from vegetation Sun provides them warm blanket, moon makes them relaxed They survive and settle down towards a safe life They gain good health, they become happy They move together, they hunt together Then comes the spring, rain pours and pours They run for shelter and find the cave There in the cave are some dry twigs and a mild streak of fire They light up the fire, cave becomes warm and cozy They see each other, they come close, huddle together He holds her, she feels warmth of closeness They feel something yet unknown but passionate to resist They unite. A child is thus born. Whose is this child, whom does it belong Mother and father were the final instruments Nature in it’s different forms was always there Was there as the life force to make it happen Was there to keep burning the torch of life The child thus born belongs to mother nature The child thus born belongs to the life force on earth Every child thus belongs to every one Being child of nature, being child of life force By - Nakshatra singh |
