A soldier in VietNam must face reality
Cold Sweat by Doug Williams

In a tiny little village in the heart of Viet Nam
I've executed many, now I think my time has come
There's a hundred fifty soldiers searching high and low
I know I cannot stay here; but there's no place left to go

I Don't know what I'm doing here; I'm not a man of war
They should not have sent me here to settle up their score
There's thirteen screaming faces at the trials in my brain
Who did not see me coming; but by me they all were slain

They're saying I deprived them of their familys back at home
Now they can't teach their children to survive out on their own
They'll never plow their fields again; they'll never hold their wives
They'll never see a smile again because I took their lives

And who am I to judge; and who am I to say
Was it right or was it wrong to take their lives away
I didn't even know them; was killing justified
If the soldiers overlook me, I'll still have no place to hide

So, I put the barrel in my mouth and think the sinner's prayer
Hoping HE'll forgive me and accept my soul up there
I quickly squeeze the trigger; as silently I scream
Then I awake in cold sweat... it's just another dream
