You Two

Dark hair, blue eyes,
You told me I was beautiful,
and held me in your arms as you slept.

You worried I hadn't eaten enough,
So you bought me breakfast,
and made sure I had enough to eat through the week

You kissed the top of my head
As I buried my face in your chest
You showed me how to build a shelter in the forest.

You took care of me
After I fell out with my mum
And was too scared to go home

You gave me your shirt,
Even though it was freezing
And we were sleeping outside

You took me to the most beautiful places
And let me marvel at the sounds you made
When you came

You understood that I was nervous
And held me, kissed me gently,
and touched me in the most amazing ways.

You hugged me good night
And admitted that I'm pretty

you sat with me when I passed out,
You brought me water
and told me to eat more often

You smiled and blushed
When I kissed you on the cheek
And got out of the car.

You came and got me
when I lost my ticket
and couldn't get home.

You helped me realise that I'm stronger
Than the ones who hold me back
And try to control my life
